Based on the success of the Goonyella Coal Chain project, QR is now taking part in Capricornia Coal Chain project focusing on the Blackwater–Moura System. 

Like the Goonyella Coal Chain project, the Capricornia Coal Chain project is designed to improve the cooperation and alignment of all members of the supply chain operating with the Blackwater and Moura systems. The goals are to achieve maximum coal throughput and service levels to meet customer demand.

With improvements to the coal industry supply chain an area of focus for QR, QR Network Access and QRNational are taking part in the project along with representatives from other stakeholder organisations.
