Project Fast Facts

The Beerwah level crossing, which caused congestion and traffic snarls in Beerwah town centre, has been eliminated. A new 1.2 km road connection has been built over the rail line south of Beerwah CBD and the $67.6 million project was opened at the end of October 2009.

  • End Date: October 2009
  • Construct a new 1.2km road bridge over the rail line
  • Two roundabouts and two signalised intersections

Background

The Beerwah Rail Crossing Project was undertaken to enhance safety, improve traffic flow through Beerwah township and improve rail services along the north coast line.

An associated project, the Caboolture to Beerburrum Track Duplication, has also been completed and future duplication and upgrading of the rail line from Beerburrum to Landsborough is planned.
