This project involves constructing a railway line from Robina to Varsity Lakes. 

  • Start Date: July 2007
  • End Date: Late 2009
  • Track length: 4.1km
  • New tunnel: Under Easthill Drive
  • New station: Varsity Lakes
  • Three bridges: Investigator Drive, Robina Parkway, Scottsdale Drive

Project benefits include:

  • New public transport infrastructure for the Gold Coast region
  • Increased rail capacity
  • Better connections for communities
  • Environmentally friendly alternative to road transport
  • Creating around 2300 new jobs            

              

Presentations were made to community groups about the project in August 2008.
