This project involves constructing a railway line from Robina to Varsity Lakes. 

  • Start Date: August 2007
  • End Date: Late 2009
  • Track length: 4.1km
  • New tunnel: Under Easthill Drive
  • New station: Varsity Lakes
  • Bridges: Three - Investigator Dr, Robina Parkway and Scottsdale Dr

Project benefits include:

  • New public transport infrastructure for the Gold Coast region
  • Increased rail capacity
  • Better connections for communities
  • Environmentally friendly alternative to road transport
  • Creating approx. 150 new jobs            

             

Public displays were held in April 2008 unveiling the look of the new Varsity Lakes station
